Dr. Akela Szasz grew up across Japan, China, and Vancouver Island before completing medical school at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She recently completed her Family Medicine residency in the Kootenay Boundary and will soon begin practicing in Creston as a full-scope rural family and emergency physician.
With a strong interest in emergency medicine and rural acute care, Akela understands firsthand the unique challenges of delivering timely emergency response across the Kootenays. Her experience training in our region has given her a deep appreciation for both the people and the geography that make this work so important.
